This summer, the Museums’ programming series was titled “Perspectives of the Past.” Through the series, the Museums focused on different aspects of Meeteetse history. While presentations focused on immersing our visitors in various aspects of Meeteetse’s history (from before Meeteetse was a town until well after), blog posts on our website gave in-depth looks at some of the town’s early residents. At the same time, our staff began collecting oral histories to share the stories of historic ranches in the area. In three short months, the Museums were able to gather 21 interviews with 28 people. Now, we’re excited to host Dr. Amy McKinney, Associate Professor of History at Northwest College, for a presentation on ranching in Meeteetse.
The presentation will take place at the Meeteetse Museums on Saturday, September 17th at 1 pm. Refreshments and coffee will be served following the event.
